"Kundalini Yoga is a yoga by which those people who live in the first chakra, second chakra and third chakra may temporarily go to the fourth, fifth, sixth, seventh, and eighth; and can be made to live permanently in the eighth chakra – the arcline and the aura, the halo of the Divine.
We call it God-consciousness. Christ-consciousness. Whatever you call it, Kundalini Yoga is a methodology, technology or tool to shift the center of consciousness and build up a person so he or she can live in a higher consciousness."

In 1997 I hurt my back while taking a modern dance class. My teacher suggested that while I was recovering, I take a yoga class. She mentioned how it will keep me stretching so that when I get back to dancing I will still have some flexibility. I took her advice; 14 years later, not only am I still practicing yoga, but teaching it as well. I never did get back to another dance class. I began taking Hatha Yoga classes and quickly healed my back injury while beginning to notice my stress levels decreasing and my patience with my young children growing. It wasn’t long before I felt called to teach Hatha Yoga; and so, I received my certification through the International Aerobic Assoc.. I loved teaching yoga, and continued adding as many class times to my busy life as my family would tolerate.
In 2002, after teaching for a year, I attended a yoga conference in N.Y.C. There were many forms of yoga there and I chose to take a couple classes of Kundalini Yoga as taught by Yogi Bhajan®. The fire in my soul was sparked. I returned home and immediately searched online for teacher in PA. The closest one to Lancaster was 40 minutes away, in New Cumberland. I began taking classes and attending all the workshops that Siri Neel Kaur offered in her 3HO yoga center. That was just the beginning of my transformation into a yogic lifestyle. In 2006 I completed the Aquarian Teacher Training Level 1 200 hour certification to instruct Kundalini Yoga as Taught by Yogi Bhajan®. Since then I have instructed over 1000 hours of classes earning me the experienced registered yoga teacher(E-RYT) status with the Yoga Alliance, a national yoga organization that ensures the highest standards of yoga teachers and schools. Currently, I am an apprentice in the Aquarian Teacher Training Academy, and working toward my Level 2 Practitioner certification through the Kundalini Research Institute. Along with the Level 1 certification I received in 2006, I completed a specialty 100 hour course for Conscious Pregnancy in 2007. I see no end to the growth achievable through this wonderfully intense study of the science of Kundalini Yoga. It is like food for my soul, and I do not plan on going hungry.

Kundalini Yoga as Taught by Yogi Bhajan® is the yoga of awareness. Through the use of mantra(sound currents), pranayama (breath work), asana (postures), meditation, and relaxation the practitioner experiences her/his higher Self. It is a way to tap into the creative essence within each of us. The postures are grouped into kriyas (sets) focusing on a desired result. For example, the Let the Liver Live series works on cleansing the liver and the glands that support it, while stretching and strengthening the muscles of the legs and torso.
The kriya practiced during class is enhanced by a meditation, some with mantra, and some without. Finishing with deep relaxation allows the body to fully assimilate the work you’ve done during class. This is the blue print of a Kundalini yoga class; each instructor brings their own flare and experience to share.
